TAKOMA JUNCTION
NDC was selected by the City of Takoma Park to create a focal point and gathering space for the community at this 1.25-acre Takoma Junction site fronting Carroll Avenue, located less than one mile from Takoma Park Metro. Complete with new places for residents to meet friends, shop, and eat, Takoma Junction will attract new customers that will support current businesses and increase Takoma Park’s tax base.
In keeping with the Master Plan vision for Takoma Junction, we plan to transform an underused surface parking lot and auto service center into a village center. Using the rhythm of Carroll Avenue’s main street as inspiration, we incorporated a mix of building materials and textures into the design to give the feel of multiple buildings, rather than one large structure.
